Reporting a Phishing Email
How to Spot a Phishing Email:
The email uses generalized text without specific context.
Uncharacteristic tone, verbiage, or signature from the known sender.
The email contains an unexpected attachment or link that the known sender does not normally share.
Always exercise caution when opening emails sent from external or internal sources. Note that Phishing emails can be sent from real, compromised employee email addresses.
If you receive a suspicious email fitting the criteria above:
DO NOT CLICK the link or open any attachments.
If you have received an unsolicited email from a colleague, do not respond to the email. Contact them via Google Chat or phone call to confirm that they sent the message.
Report the email using the information below.
How to Report a Phishing Attempt
To report a phishing attempt, locate the three-dot’s, to the right of the reply icon, of the email you would like to report.

Locate the “Report Phishing” option and select it.

You will see a message like the one below. Select “Report Phishing Message.” This will remove the email from your inbox and notify the IS team for review.
