This article provides the steps for setting up scan to email on HP and Canon printers. If the printer has a scanner and needs this enabled, please follow the steps below.
Symptoms:
Inability to scan
Copier email bounces back
Troubleshooting Steps:
Determine Printer Model
Request the Stewart ID of the printer, then cross reference it with our asset document and identify the copier, if it is HP, go to Step 2, and if it is Canon, go to Step 3.
Set Up For HP Copier
Using the IP address for the printer, access it in the browser, then go to “Scan”
Select “Scan to Email” and click “Outgoing Email Settings”, then use the following credentials in the setup:
SMTP Settings:
Server: smtp.sendgrid.net
E-Mail Address: scanners-resed@responsiveed.com
SMTP Port: 25 or 587
Use SMTP Authentication(SMTP AUTH)
User Name: scanners-resed
Password: Ft@ijma@B78
Once everything is filled out, enter your email into the “Send a test email to” box, then click “Save and Test”.
Check your email, if you receive a confirmation, then scan to email is set up successfully.
Set Up For Canon Copier
Using the IP address for the printer, access it in the browser, log in using the admin printer credentials
Go to “Settings/Registration”, next “Send”, and then select “Network Settings - E-Mail/I-Fax Settings”
Use the following credentials in the setup:
SMTP Settings:
Server: smtp.sendgrid.net
E-Mail Address: scanners-resed@responsiveed.com
SMTP Port: 25
Use SMTP Authentication(SMTP AUTH)
User Name: scanners-resed
Password: Ft@ijma@B78
Once everything is filled out, click “OK” in the top right to save the configuration.
After saving, click “Check SMTP Connection” to ensure the scan server is reachable, if you receive a confirmation, then the scan to email is set up successfully.
