This article provides troubleshooting steps for students who are unable to log in to the Student Portal. Common issues include incorrect credentials, password errors, account lockouts, and browser-related problems.

Common Login Issues & Resolutions

1. Incorrect Username or Password

Symptoms:

  • Error message stating “Invalid username or password”

  • Login page refreshes without access

Resolution:

  • Ensure the username is entered exactly as provided (check for spelling errors).

  • Passwords are case-sensitive; confirm Caps Lock is off.

  • Remove any leading or trailing spaces when copying and pasting credentials.

2. Forgotten Password

Symptoms:

  • Student cannot remember their password

  • Multiple failed login attempts

Resolution:

  1. Select Forgot Password on the login page.

  2. Enter the registered email address or student ID.

  3. Follow the password reset instructions sent via email.

  4. If the reset email is not received, check the spam/junk folder.

3. Account Locked

Symptoms:

  • Message indicating the account is locked or disabled

Resolution:

  • Accounts may lock after multiple failed login attempts.

  • Wait 15–30 minutes and try again, or

  • Contact the IT Help Desk or Student Support to request an account unlock.

4. Browser or Cache Issues

Symptoms:

  • Page not loading correctly

  • Login button not responding

Resolution:

  • Clear browser cache and cookies.

  • Try accessing the portal using a different browser (Chrome or Edge recommended).

  • Ensure the browser is updated to the latest version.

  • Disable browser extensions temporarily and try again.

5. System Maintenance or Outage

Symptoms:

  • Login page unavailable

  • Unexpected errors for multiple users

Resolution:

  • Check institutional communications for planned maintenance notices.

  • Wait and try again later if an outage is reported.

Mobile access may be limited depending on device and browser.
